Introduction

Weights on weight rack

Traditional sports have always embraced fitness training as a way to improve performance and results. Knowledge can be gained through reading a wide range of literature and meeting with a trainer - as there is a wealth of information available.

However, in other sports there is not such a range of information available. It is hard to find factually correct and relevant information to help training as many fitness professionals have no experience in sports such as Motocross and Mountain Biking and do not fully understand and appreciate the physiological demands placed upon the athletes.

MX Fitness is run by Alan Milway, who combines an Honours degree in Sports and Materials Science with years of experience racing and training some of the Worlds best Motocross and Mountain bike racers. He not only understands the requirements for success in these sports but is also a passionate supporter of them which brings added enthusiasm to training and preparation.

A lot of attention is often given to the performance of the bike and how to improve it to make you go faster. However, it is common to overlook improving the performance and effectiveness of the rider, which is far more important if you want to go faster for longer...

Improved fitness will improve performance on the bike in many ways, including:

To help a rider one must gain a lot of information regarding what events they are training for - duration of event, frequency of racing, level of competition. It is also important to talk about what the rider enjoys doing off the bike- fitness should not be a chore and when training for motocross, there are many ways to reach the same end fitness goal. The access to facilities should also be considered so the plan is as specific to the needs and wants of the individual as possible.

If you're serious about reaching your potential, MX Fitness can help.
